As a Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning of the Transitional Government, Mr. Magdi Amin worked on the program of economic reform to overcome decades of economic mismanagement in Sudan. He helped in the design and negotiation of the IMF package including the enhanced HIPC designation, led the design and development of $1.8 billion cash transfer program, designed a roadmap to restructure and recapitalize the banking sector in Sudan, and spearheaded and built consensus on Sudan Business Forum for public-private reform dialogue. Mr. Amin has been working at the World Bank since 1998 and has served in many countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. He is a recipient of many awards and recognized as a thought-leader focusing on human-centered technology including digital identity, data privacy, and security. Mr. Amin graduated from Princeton University in International Affairs/Development Economics, and earned a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University.
