Association of Sudanese-American Professors in America

Dr. Michele R. Buzon is a Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Anthropology at Purdue University. Her research, funded by National Science Foundation and National Geographic Society, focuses on the excavation and analysis of human skeletal remains from archaeological sites to address biocultural questions related to sociopolitical changes in the ancient Nile Valley using palepathological, morphological, isotopic, and mortuary methods.  Her bioarchaeological work in Sudan began in 2000 and she co-direct excavations at the cemetery and settlement sites of Tombos, Sudan at the Third Cataract with Stuart Tyson Smith and Mohamed Faroug Ali.
