Dr. Elbuluk, is a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Akron (UA) since 1989 and a professional engineer (PE) in the state of Ohio. Prior to joining UA, he held positions as member of the Electric Power Research Center at NC State University's ECE Department, as Faculty Fellow at the NASA Glenn Research Center and Ohio Aerospace Institute, as a Graduate student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as a Teaching Assistant in the Electrical Engineering Department at University of Khartoum and as an Electrical Engineer at the Electricity and Water Corporation of Sudan. Dr. Elbuluk teaching and research interests are in the areas of power electronics, power engineering and control systems, with applications to electrification of transportation in aerospace and automotive, and modernization of electric power grid and integration of renewable energy Sources, He was an ABET Evaluator for programs in electrical engineering, and had served in the Fundamental of Engineering Examination (FOE) at the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). Dr. Elbuluk is an active life Senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a a member of the Power Electronics, the Industry Applications and the Industrial Electronics Societies and was a member of Eta Kapa Nu Electrical Engineering Society. Dr. Elbuluk is the 2007 recipient of the Louis A. Hill Jr. Award in recognition of exceptional dedication and service to the UA College of Engineering. He was also awarded the 2012 National Technical Association Nsoroma Life Achievement Award. Dr. Elbuluk has wide national international collaboration and recognition. He has given a number of invited talks and presentations in Brazil, Egypt, Hong-Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, UAE and USA.
