Professor at University of South Carolina

Dr. Khalil is a Professor of anatomical sciences at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. He received a BVSc (DVM) and a Master in Anatomy from University of Khartoum; a Master in Anatomy from Tuskegee University, AL; a Master in Educational Technology, and a PhD in Anatomy from Purdue University, IN. Dr. Khalil is a founding faculty of two medical schools with expertise in medical education. Dr. Khalil’s research is mainly focused on medical education with interest in curriculum design, application of educational technology to enhance the teaching and learning of pre-clinical sciences, and the investigation of the relationship between learning and study strategies as it relates to students’ performance on internal and external examinations. Dr. Khalil has received many awards for teaching excellence including the SGEA Career Educator Award, American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC), and the Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award, (AAMC).
