Professor at UTC-Chattanooga
Dr. Ahmed H. Eltom, Distinguished Teaching Professor of Electrical Engineering, is our featured faculty member for November’s “Getting To Know You”.
Prior to living in Chattanooga, Dr. Eltom has lived in Potsdam NY, Doha Qatar, Riyadh Saudi Arabia, and Khartoum Sudan. He speaks both English and Arabic. His family consists of Shadia Ali (wife), Mohamed (son), and Rania (daughter).
Dr. Eltom enjoys playing and watching soccer. His hobbies? “Gardening, hiking and rowing” he tells us. He also enjoys rafting, walking and participating in webinars.
Having started at CECS in August of 1984, Dr. Eltom has certainly seen some changes over the years. Topping the chart of changes are creation of departments and moving from teaching to teaching & research. His favorite thing about his career? “Teaching students – Using my knowledge and experience to help others” he says.
