Traffic crashes are one of the leading causes of death around the globe, resulting in over 1.35 million fatalities a year. Crashes can be more devastating in less developed countries due to the lack of medical resources and emergency vehicle services. Sudan, in particular, faces a multitude of challenges in this regard, including the lack of infrastructure, services, policies, and technological advancement. Members of ASAPA have had some initial work in Sudan to improve safety. We are currently working on expanding these efforts and are welcoming collaboration within the membership of ASAPA and other experts in the field.
